Question in Bill's workspace
Find $\displaystyle \frac{d}{dx}\left(\frac{m\sin(ax)+n\cos(ax)}{b\sin(ax)+c\cos(ax)}\right)$. Three part question.
-
Question in Bill's workspace
The derivative of $\displaystyle \frac{ax^2+b}{cx^2+d}$ is $\displaystyle \frac{g(x)}{(cx^2+d)^2}$. Find $g(x)$.
Contains a video solving a similar quotient rule example. Although does not explicitly find $g(x)$ as asked in the question, but this is obvious.
-
Question in Bill's workspace
Find $\displaystyle \int \frac{a}{(bx+c)^n}\;dx$
-
Question in Bill's workspace
Find $\displaystyle \int (ax+b)\cos(cx+d)\; dx $ and hence find $\displaystyle \int (ax+b)^2\sin(cx+d)\; dx $
Also two other questions on integrating by parts.
-
Question in Bill's workspace
Two sample t-test to see if there is a difference between scores on questions between two groups when the questions are asked in a different order.
-
Question in Bill's workspace
The derivative of $\displaystyle \frac{ax+b}{\sqrt{cx+d}}$ is $\displaystyle \frac{g(x)}{2(cx+d)^{3/2}}$. Find $g(x)$.
-
Question in Bill's workspace
The derivative of $\displaystyle \frac{ax+b}{cx^2+dx+f}$ is $\displaystyle \frac{g(x)}{(cx^2+dx+f)^2}$. Find $g(x)$.

Question in Johnathan's workspaceFinding parameters of a factorised quadratic based on x-intercepts at vertex. Function has one intercept at origin and one at a positive integer value. Constant multiplier is randomised and requires vertex in order to calculate.

-
Question in Clare Differential Equations
Solve: $\displaystyle \frac{d^2y}{dx^2}+2a\frac{dy}{dx}+a^2y=0,\;y(0)=c$ and $y(1)=d$. (Equal roots example).

Question in Quantities extension
Given mass and volume of an object in SI units, calculate its density. The units are given at different orders of magnitude.
-
Question in How-tos
A mathematical expression part whose answer is the product of two matrices, $X \times Y$.
By setting the "variable value generator" option for $X$ and $Y$ to produce random matrices, we can ensure that the order of the factors in the student's answer matters: $X \times Y \neq Y \times X$.

Question in Content created by Newcastle University
Find the stationary points of the function: $f(x,y)=a x ^ 3 + b x ^ 2 y + c y ^ 2 x + dy$ by choosing from a list of points.
Inputting the values given into the partial derivatives to see if 0 is obtained is tedious! Could ask for the factorisation of equation 1 as the solution uses this. However there is a problem in asking for the input of the stationary points - order of input and also giving that there is two stationary points.
